Biographical Note:

William B. Bateman, MD, is clinical associate professor of medicine, New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY. A general internist, he is widely known for his expertise in primary care for diverse indigent populations, for health care through lifestyle change, and for insights regarding health-care administration.

Noilyn F. Abesamis-Mendoza is manager of health policy for the Coalition for Asian American Children & Families (CACF), New York, NY, the nation's only policy and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Asian-Pacific American children.

Henrietta Ho-Asjoe is administrator and director of the Community Development Center for the Study of Asian American Health at the New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY.
