Publisher Marketing: "Michele is one of the best wine educators I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She speaks about wine in such an approachable and fun way. Pairing Paws is refreshing to read, both informative and playful. I love that she weaves together snippets about the wineries with the dogs' personalities. What a creative perspective on the wine world!" -Jill Davis, advanced sommelier CMS, winemaker, Cordelette Wine "Michele Gargiulo masterfully breaks down walls and presents a book for imbibers and dog lovers alike that truly is FUN!" -Ross Jackson, sommelier and wine educator "When you are having a 'ruff' day, a great glass of wine and a love of our furry bestfriends are always there to comfort us. Michele lets us look at our relationship with both in a new way." -Scott Zoccolillo, advanced sommelier CMS Publisher Marketing : Ever wonder what wine to pair with something you had no intention of eating? As a professional sommelier, Michele Gargiulo has taken the time to pair something unusual, and inedible (hopefully, anyway), with a favorite beverage-wine. This book explores how to pair the personality and soul of different wines with well-known dog breeds. Dogs have distinctive personalities-they vary based on breed and even by individual, just as wines vary year to year, location to location. Wine is often taken too seriously, and many people still expect sommeliers to be older gentlemen who forgot how to smile sometime in the 80s. To make wine what it is truly about, happiness and fun, the author has expertly paired her picks with the creatures who are among the happiest and most fun in the world. Cheers! Contributor Bio: Gargiulo, Michele Michele Gargiulo is currently the Wine and Beverage Director at the Fearless Restaurant Group, which encompasses 10 different restaurants in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Previously she was at the Four Seasons Philadelphia, working at the Jean Georges restaurant as their Sommelier. She is a Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers, a WSET Diploma student (currently Advanced), a Certified Sake Advisor from the Sake School of America, an Executive Bourbon Steward from the Stave and Thief Society, and a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators. Basically, beverages are her area of expertise. She graduated from The Culinary Institute of America, and prior to that studied Genetics at Rutgers University. She has made her career about making wine more approachable and fun for those who are too intimidated to learn more. She often pairs wine with things that others would not think to, like art, music, feelings, and now, dogs!
