Hooky looks like a proper magazine, but it is more like a "fancy zine" which uses self-publishing tools rather than a Xerox machine to find its way out into the world. The stories in Hooky are at once goofy and thoughtful. This may be because of Luke's childhood in Canada, watching Saturday Morning cartoons and reading Mad Magazine, combined with his later life in Scandinavia, where he absorbed Tintin, Moomin and Pippi. Contributor Bio: Seguin-Magee, Luke Luke Seguin Magee is an illustrator of children's books and educational material for a wide range of clients in the UK and USA. He has a studio in Stockholm, where he also paints. When he is not in the studio, he is probably taking care of his daughters, hanging out at the summerhouse, building something out of used lumber, or refurbishing something-like the rowboat he did this past summer. Luke enjoys a good read, movies, tv, comics, music, cooking and baking, exercises at home and fantasizes about living somewhere with an extra room or two. Luke's influences are vast, ranging from Steve McQueen to Jim Carrey; "Eightball" to "Peanuts"; Tintin to Moomin.
