Additionally, Trepang has a spy aboard disclosing this information to the KGB. A Naval Intelligence Officer is onboard Trepang investigating the possible spy which adds a new dimension to the story. Thanks to the American Spy John Walker, the Soviets are reading message traffic and know Trepang is tracking their submarines, and furthermore has found these Alien Spacecraft operating in the Arctic. Eventually, Admiral Gorshkov the head of the Soviet Navy, and Admiral Vladimir Azhazha the KGB's operative inside the Soviet Navy, send K347, a Victor-1 Class Soviet SSN nuclear submarine to intercept Trepang when it is sent back out again to observe the Alien UFO's.
