Into the Sun
My 45,000 word novel, "Into the Sun," is a nineteen thirties type science fiction adventure. It's in the same vein as Burroughs's Martian series, Flash Gordon and some of the other stories from that time that have fascinated readers for decades. "Into the Sun" starts with a cub reporter interviewing an old salt in southern Arizona about a space station re-supply ship on a mission that went very wrong. And if that wasn't bad enough, the commander was saddled with a crew that's right out of "McHale's Navy." There was a pulse from the Sun powerful enough to warp space and in twenty minutes the ship was in orbit of Mercury. They actually managed to land on the planet and then find out that what's happening here is not at all what they were told in high school science class. After blundering their way through several hair-raising scenarios, eventually half of the crew actually makes its way back to the space station they were initially supposed to supply. The other half elected to stay. Then what started in Arizona ends in Arizona. It's a fun read. This, I think, would be worth your time to look at.
