Bajo la excusa de mostrarnos el punto de vista de la Serpiente del Génesis, y bajo la apariencia de una falsa simpleza (estética y narrativa), Oliver no entra en asuntos religiosos sino que plantea una irónica crítica a algunos aspectos de la sociedad actual, como la relación de pareja o el consumo de masas. Aunque escrito (o mejor dicho, dibujado) a finales del pasado siglo, mantiene una total vigencia. Se trata de una obra muy singular en la trayectoria del autor, reconocido artista plástico (escultor y grabador), que aunque posee algunas obras literarias inéditas, no es éste su campo habitual de expresión artística. En este libro se funden magistralmente tres de sus pasiones; el Dibujo, la Palabra y (sobre todo) el Humor. Esta versión bilingüe, inglés/Español, con un lenguaje muy conciso, en frases cortas y algunos juegos de palabra, la hacen idónea como ejercicios de prácticas para estudiantes de alguno de estos idiomas.
