Tom Devere October 10, 2018 Verified Purchase My mind is not set for comic books and I am new to the series, but it intrigued me enough to want to buy it. And I was rewarded for it. It is extremely hard to show the inner demons and depict mental struggle in art often times. However, Verne pulled it off tremendously. The desire for ascendance or Transcendence is a very real human wish and one that Buddha and Christ and the spirit leads us to. Funny moments abound with some fun twists in a little bit of stoner humor and intellectual wit. Enjoy this as I did. It is certainly worth your money. The art and art style I was unfamiliar with, but it melded well with the story and accentuated the storytelling. Love and love interests like Hal and Marion fill the pages, but there is much beneath the surface of the symbology. I felt I only caught the tip of the Iceberg.
