The Society

The corrupt mayor of a city summons a demon to clean the streets of those he considers undesirables. The plan goes terribly wrong leading the mayor and his colleagues to put the blame on a political enemy, the scientist Dr. Sara Yoshida. The city's administration exploits the situation by expanding police powers, instituting draconian laws curtailing the freedom of its citizens and launching a full-scale war on scientists. During this dark time, the only hope to save the city from its unprincipled leaders is an underground organization called The Society. This is the first volume in a new series which introduces this hybrid of horror and science fiction set in a background of political intrigue and occult secrets.
